About

Built in classrooms.
Designed for schools.

Apto was developed by language acquisition specialists with deep experience in international school settings. Our frameworks weren't designed in the abstract — they were built and refined through years of working directly with multilingual learners, subject teachers, and school leadership teams.

We believe that language is not the responsibility of one specialist. It belongs in every classroom, every subject, every lesson. Apto exists to make that possible — by giving schools the tools to assess where their learners are, and equip every teacher to respond.

We work with international schools that are serious about becoming genuinely language-aware communities — not just ticking boxes, but transforming how teachers think about the learners in front of them.

What we believe

Our principles.

Language belongs to everyone
Multilingual learner support is not a specialist's job. It's the responsibility of every teacher in every subject.
Assessment should be actionable
Knowing where a student is only matters if it changes what happens in the classroom. Our frameworks are designed to connect assessment to teaching.
Teachers need tools, not theory
We build practical frameworks that work in real classrooms — not idealized ones. Complexity is our job, not teachers'.
Systems change schools
Individual teachers can only do so much. Lasting change comes from giving schools a shared system — a common language and approach.
